<h1>OpenShift Engineer</h1><p><strong>Location:</strong> Dallas, TX (Hybrid – Woodall Office)</p><p><strong>Duration:</strong> 12-Month Statement of Work (SOW)</p><p><strong>Work Schedule:</strong> Must be able to work onsite at the Woodall office up to three (3) times per week, as needed.</p><h2>Position Summary</h2><p>The OpenShift Engineer will be responsible for engineering, support, automation, and thought leadership related to Client’s Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings. This role will administer Client’s multiple OpenShift clusters and collaborate with various project teams to migrate and refactor applications to Client’s PaaS environment. The engineer will play a critical role in ensuring platform stability, scalability, and operational excellence.</p><h2>Key Responsibilities</h2><ul><li>Administer and support multiple OpenShift clusters</li><li>Provide engineering support for Client’s Platform-as-a-Service offerings</li><li>Assist project teams with application migrations to containerized workloads</li><li>Design and implement automation solutions for platform operations</li><li>Support and maintain OpenShift Data Foundation and storage solutions</li><li>Manage Advanced Cluster Management and Advanced Cluster Security</li><li>Administer Ceph storage environments</li><li>Deploy and manage containerized applications and microservices architectures</li><li>Support CI/CD pipeline implementations and enhancements</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across multiple environments</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a multi-project environment</li><li>Document processes, share knowledge, and train team members</li><li>Provide clear and comprehensive written, oral, and digital communications</li></ul><h2>Required Skills &amp; Experience</h2><ul><li>Strong experience with OpenShift Administration</li><li>Experience with OpenShift Data Foundation</li><li>Experience with OpenShift Platform Plus</li><li>Advanced Cluster Management</li><li>Advanced Cluster Security</li><li>Ceph Administration</li><li>Extensive knowledge of Linux Containers (Docker), Kubernetes, and containerized application deployments</li><li>Experience migrating and refactoring applications to containerized workloads</li><li>Working knowledge of Java, JBoss, nginx, Node.js, and enterprise application architectures</li><li>Experience with automated deployment tools</li><li>Strong understanding of DevOps concepts, tools, and best practices</li><li>Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in multi-project environments</li><li>Working knowledge of networking concepts (protocols, firewalls, load balancers, etc.)</li><li>Ability to document processes and train others effectively</li></ul><h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2><ul><li>Working knowledge of SSL certificates</li><li>Experience working in Agile environments (Kanban, stand-ups, sprints, etc.)</li><li>Familiarity with industry-leading standards and emerging technologies</li><li>Experience with container and pod-level monitoring and logging tools such as Dynatrace and QRadar</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Interested please share your resume details at Himanshu@vimerseit.com</p>
