Job Title: Litigation Manager – RERA & Real Estate

Location: Mumbai

Experience: 5–6 Years

Reporting To: Managing Partner / CEO

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Litigation Head to lead our RERA and Real Estate litigation practice. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, Maharashtra RERA regulations, and civil real estate litigation. The role involves representing clients before MahaRERA, the Appellate Tribunal, and the Bombay High Court while leading a team of legal professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Litigation & Dispute Resolution

• Represent clients before MahaRERA, the MahaRERA Appellate Tribunal (REAT), and the Bombay High Court.
• Develop litigation strategies for refund claims, possession delays, force majeure disputes, and other real estate matters.
• Handle execution proceedings, recovery warrants, and property attachment cases.
• Draft and review complaints, replies, rejoinders, appeals, and legal petitions.

Legal Advisory & Compliance

• Provide legal opinions on RERA judgments and real estate regulations.
• Conduct due diligence on land titles, project approvals, and ongoing litigation.
• Ensure compliance with RERA provisions, including project registrations, extensions, quarterly disclosures, and structural defect obligations.
• Advise developers, investors, and financial institutions on legal and regulatory matters.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and supervise junior advocates and legal associates.
• Allocate cases, review legal documentation, and monitor case progress.
• Manage litigation timelines, court hearings, and documentation.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Conduct client meetings and provide strategic legal advice.
• Lead settlement negotiations and conciliation meetings between developers and homebuyers.
• Advise High Net-worth Individuals (HNIs), corporate clients, and financial institutions on RERA-related legal risks.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.

Required Qualifications

• LLB or LLM from a recognized Indian university.
• Enrolled with the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa.
• 5–6 years of litigation experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on experience in MahaRERA and civil real estate litigation.
• Strong knowledge of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, Maharashtra RERA Rules, and Bombay High Court procedures.
