Roles and Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into detailed mechanical designs that meet performance, manufacturability, and reliability targets.
• Create, review, and maintain complete engineering design documentation for mechanical components and assemblies.
• Develop and interpret geometric dimensioning and tolerancing standards to ensure accurate, consistent fit and function.
• Produce and update 3D models and engineering drawings for use by internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturing.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve design issues, and support design decisions.
• Validate designs through analysis, iteration, and design reviews, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
• Support the transition from prototype to production by incorporating feedback from manufacturing, QA, and field teams.
• Coordinate remotely with engineering and production groups to meet timelines, milestones, and revision control needs.
• Maintain organized documentation and ensure that all design outputs are version-controlled and traceable.

Required Qualifications

• Experience performing mechanical design work for components, mechanisms, or electromechanical systems.
• Proficiency in producing detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using industry-standard CAD workflows.
• Strong working knowledge of GD&T principles and the ability to apply tolerances correctly on engineering drawings.
• Demonstrated understanding of mechanical principles, including assemblies, materials considerations, and design for manufacturability.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements and convert them into measurable design constraints and documentation.
• Experience participating in design reviews, addressing issues, and implementing effective corrective actions.
• Strong technical communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain design intent to diverse audiences.
• Comfort working in a remote environment with structured collaboration, schedules, and organized deliverables.
• Relevant education or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related discipline.

Key Responsibilities

• Design mechanical parts and assemblies from concept through detailed documentation, including revision management.
• Create engineering drawings with clear annotations, specifications, and tolerance callouts to guide fabrication and inspection.
• Define interfaces, fit requirements, and assembly constraints to ensure correct alignment, function, and integration.
• Perform iterative design updates based on feedback from manufacturing, quality, and system engineering partners.
• Ensure drawings and models adhere to internal drafting standards and industry best practices.
• Support supplier and internal manufacturing partners by providing clarifications, drawing updates, and technical guidance.
• Contribute to risk reduction by identifying potential design/manufacturing issues early and proposing mitigations.
• Maintain complete design records, including documentation sets, change logs, and traceability for requirements.
• Participate in project reviews, communicate status and blockers, and help achieve deliverables on schedule.
