Position Summary
Senior Design Consultant responsible for end-to-end planning, design, coordination, review, and execution support of Firefighting, Plumbing, Drainage, Water Supply, Storm Water, STP/WTP systems for commercial buildings, data centers, hospitals, residential townships, industrial facilities, and infrastructure projects.
Key Result Areas (KRAs)
1. Firefighting System Design & Engineering
Responsibilities
- Design and review Fire Hydrant, Sprinkler, Water Mist, Gas Suppression, Foam, and Fire Alarm interfacing systems.
- Perform hydraulic calculations for sprinkler and hydrant systems.
- Design Fire Pump Rooms, Fire Water Storage Tanks, Fire Tender access requirements, and zonal distribution systems.
- Ensure compliance with NBC, NFPA, FM, TAC, local fire authority regulations, and client standards.
- Prepare firefighting layouts, riser schematics, pump calculations, and equipment sizing.
- Coordinate firefighting systems with HVAC, electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines.
- Support authority approvals and fire NOC documentation.

- Firefighting design basis report.
- Hydraulic calculation reports.
- Pump head calculations and equipment schedules.
- Tender drawings and GFC drawings.

2. Plumbing & Public Health Engineering (PHE) Design
Responsibilities
- Design domestic water supply, flushing water, hot water, drainage, sewage, and storm water systems.
- Perform pipe sizing, pump head calculations, fixture unit calculations, and water demand assessments.
- Design rainwater harvesting systems and storm water management systems.
- Develop plumbing schematics, risers, and detailed layouts.
- Coordinate underground and overhead tank capacities with project requirements.
- Review vendor drawings and material submittals.
- Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes and green building requirements.

- Water demand calculations.
- Plumbing layouts and schematics.
- Drainage and storm water calculations.
- Pump schedules and tank sizing.
- BOQ and technical specifications.

3. STP / WTP / ETP System Design
Responsibilities
- Design STP systems based on sewage characteristics, reuse philosophy, and project occupancy.
- Select suitable treatment technologies such as MBBR, SBR, MBR, ASP, UF/RO systems.
- Prepare process flow diagrams, hydraulic profiles, and equipment sizing.
- Design treated water reuse systems for flushing, cooling tower makeup, irrigation, etc.
- Coordinate STP layouts with civil, process, and electrical teams.
- Review vendor offers and optimize lifecycle cost.
- Ensure PCB and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

- Conduct interdisciplinary clash reviews using BIM/Revit/Navisworks.
- Lead coordination meetings and design workshops.
- Ensure design integration with project constraints and phased execution.
- Support digital engineering and BIM deliverables.

5. Project Management & Client Coordination
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously from concept to handover.
- Prepare design schedules and monitor deliverables.
- Attend client meetings, technical discussions, and design reviews.
- Coordinate with PMCs, architects, contractors, and statutory authorities.
- Provide technical support during tendering and construction phases.
KPIs
- On-time submission of deliverables.
- Positive client feedback and repeat business.
- Effective management of design changes.
6. Tendering, BOQ & Technical Documentation
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed BOQs, technical specifications, and tender documentation.
- Conduct technical bid evaluations and vendor comparisons.
- Review contractor shop drawings and material approvals.
- Support value engineering and cost optimization.
KPIs
- Accurate BOQ with minimal quantity deviations.
- Cost optimization without compromising performance.
- Faster technical evaluation turnaround.
7. Site Support & Commissioning
Responsibilities
- Review shop drawings and site installation compliance.
- Conduct periodic site inspections and technical audits.
- Support testing & commissioning activities.
- Resolve technical issues during execution.
- Witness integrated system testing and handover.
KPIs
- Minimal NCRs and rework.
- Smooth commissioning and system performance.
- Timely resolution of site technical issues.
8. Compliance, Standards & Sustainability
Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to NBC, NFPA, FM Global, TAC, UPC, IPC, CPHEEO, local authority standards, and client specifications.
- Support LEED/IGBC/GRIHA sustainability initiatives.
- Implement water conservation and energy-efficient system strategies.
- Conduct design risk assessments and technical reviews.
